GOING OUT: 5th Annual Out and About Gala by Kentucky Fairness Alliance

November 13, 2009

Hi everyone!

I haven’t had a lot of time to blog recently, but I wanted to mention one big — MAJOR — event coming this weekend.

The Kentucky Fairness Alliance is holding its Fifth Annual About & About Gala this Saturday, to be held at the State Historic Theater in Elizabethtown, KY. And you can get in on the action!

KFA has set up a limo to leave from Louisville to Elizabethtown, but this isn’t just an ordinary limo. There’s an open bar, dinner and other great ammenities. And of course, fabulous company!

The tickets are only $75, benefitting the Kentucky Fairness Alliance. If you want to buy one, contact Chris Hartman at or call (502) 640-1095. It’s not too late to get seats!

Tomorrow, Saturday, November 14
7PM – Midnight

209 West Dixie Highway

GOING OUT: Hard Candy One-Year Anniversary and G3 Soiree

September 30, 2009

What happens when two big, fabulous events collide? KABAAM! More fabulousness!

Hotel Nightclub and G3 Illustrated are joining forces to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Hard Candy, Hotel’s gay entertainment night aimed at the GLBTQ community and G3’s monthly soiree, which has had a steady following.

This event is going to be BIG. Why? Well, for one Onch Movement is going to be there, along with Stephen Hampton from MTV’s Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. And then DJ Syimone and the Ladykillers are also going to be DJing, so the music will be off the chain. Oh, and did I mention that the event has NO cover?

Bring your friends and dress to impress, red carpet style! If you want to reserve a table, call Daniel Cole at (502) 548.4082 or send him an email. This will surely be a gay night!

Tomorrow, October 1
8 PM – 4 AM

HOTEL Nightclub will be hosting a special Hard Candy event tonight for the Louisville AIDS Walk, which takes place on Sunday. While the events are normally free, all attendees are expected to donate a minimum of $5, to help benefit the AIDS Walk. If you have been reading the blog, the Walk has suffered from a huge drop in sponsorships, so they need all the help they can get.

AIDS Walk representatives will be there if you want to sign up (it’s not too late  to donate or register either, please visit the Web site to do so). DJ Syimone will also be spinning and $4 Absolut Vodka specials are on the cocktail list, so come on out and support a good cause!

GOING OUT x 2: Fleur de Lez Happy Hour / The Jarics at HOTEL’s Hard Candy

August 13, 2009

Two awesome things are going on tonight … think you can handle it?

First, our blogging sisters Fluer de Lez, a site for queer women in Louisville, is hosting their first ever Happy Hour at Zanzabar, the site of last week’s G3 Illustrated soiree. Zanzabar was known as the happening spot in the past decade and after recent renovations and a successful opening, they may take back that title. There will be drink specials tonight (of course), but you’ll also get a chance to meet some fellow members in your community!

After that, you can head on downtown to Hotel‘s Hard Candy, a monthly night of GLBTQ entertainment, and meet The Jarics! Aden and Jordan Jaric, two of Falcon Studio‘s hottest stars, will be the honorary hosts, giving away prizes and mingling with the crowd. Hotel is also making this summer steamier with $4 Absolut cocktails the entire night! And it’s FREE!

Fleur de Lez Happy Hour

6:30 – 9 PM

2100 S Preston Street

Free, drink specials all night

GOING OUT: Aüdiolüst at Renbarger’s Brewhaus

August 12, 2009

We’ve been wondering where to go for fresh electronic jams and dancing since the unfortunate collapse of Pink Door. But wonder no more.

Aüdiolüst, a weekly event at the newly renovated Brewhaus on Baxter Avenue has stepped up to fill in that missing piece. You get great dance music from DJs all over the country, drinks by Absolut Vodka and … it’s free! This week, the Brewhaus and BARCODE Entertainment will be hosting Lady Foursquare, Dufy and Figure, so go!

Tonight, 10 PM – 4 AM

Renbarger’s Brewhaüs
942 Baxter avenue

GOING OUT: G3 Soiree at Zanzibar tonight

August 6, 2009

Tonight G3 Illustrated gets ready to host another fun soiree, this time at newly remodeled Zanzibar. Known as the hotspot in the 1990s, this trendy Germantown restaurant becomes a happening bar after dinner hours, and it’s popular with the young professional crowd. As you might guess, there will be drink specials and complementary h’or doerves.  Get there early!

Thursday, August 6
8 PM-12 AM

2100 S. Preston Street

SATURDAY, July 18: Fairness Over Louisville at the Hyatt Regency Hotel

July 15, 2009

Got nothing to do this weekend? Get out your high-heel shoes and swanky jacket. We’re going downtown!

Friends and allies of Fairness Campaign are hosting “Fairness Over Louisville,” a night of fun, cocktails and entertainment way up in the sky at Louisville’s renown Hyatt hotel. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drink specials as you rotate (literally) over Louisville. $20 dollars gets you in, but you are highly encouraged to donate as all proceeds go to Fairness. (And why not? Fairness has been fighting for your rights for a while, isn’t it time you honor them more with a toast?)

Saturday, July 18
8 PM-12 AM

Hyatt Regency Hotel
320 West Jefferson Street
